The Moto Recovery DIY Garage is a community workspace created to support the Moto Recovery mission of Riders Helping Riders. It gives members a place where they can perform basic motorcycle maintenance, install accessories, prepare their bikes for rides, and share knowledge with other riders.
The current garage space is a donated residential garage that has been opened to the riding community to support Moto Recovery’s programs. While the space started small, the vision behind it is much bigger. As the Moto Recovery community grows, the DIY Garage program will grow with it.
Our goal is to gradually expand from a single residential workspace into a larger community resource with multiple DIY work bays, additional tools, and expanded workspace availability. As membership and support for Moto Recovery continue to grow, we hope to add more specialized motorcycle tools and equipment to help riders perform a wider range of maintenance and upgrades.
At the current stage, the garage provides a variety of basic motorcycle tools and workspace equipment including torque wrenches, impact tools, chain tools, paddock stands, a motorcycle lift, and workbench areas. Additional equipment available for use includes an air compressor, pressure washer, and a one-person brake bleeder to help make routine maintenance easier.
Members also have access to shop towels, basic cleaning supplies, and proper disposal for common maintenance fluids generated during basic maintenance work. Moto Recovery provides chain cleaner and chain lube for general use in the garage.
Members are responsible for bringing their own parts, fluids, lubricants, and other consumables needed for their maintenance or installation work.
For Triumph motorcycle riders, the garage also provides access to a DealerTool diagnostic system. This tool allows riders to reset maintenance intervals, activate individual systems for testing, and view performance data from the motorcycle’s ECU. The Dealertool is a diagnostic and service tool only and is not a tuning device. It is compatible with most Triumph ECUs, though it does not currently support the Triumph 400 series models.
Moto Recovery also provides limited short-term motorcycle storage for eligible members based on membership level and space availability. This allows riders to temporarily store their motorcycle while completing small projects or preparing for rides and events.
Members using the DIY Garage are responsible for cleaning their work area and returning tools to their proper place when finished. Moto Recovery will handle disposal of small used parts and normal shop waste generated during basic maintenance.
Moto Recovery also maintains a co-op partnership with Discovery Bike Co. Riders may remove their motorcycle wheels in the DIY Garage and bring them to Discovery Bike Co for tire mounting and balancing. Riders should contact Moto Discovery Co. directly for scheduling and pricing related to tire services.
Garage time is reserved through the scheduling tool at the bottom of this page. As the Moto Recovery DIY Garage program continues to grow, additional equipment, workspace options, and scheduling availability will be added to support more riders in the community.
The DIY Garage is just one part of Moto Recovery’s larger effort to build a stronger riding community where riders can help each other stay on the road, maintain their motorcycles, and support one another both on and off the bike.
